HomeCare Advocacy Network OMAHA is seeking compassionate, attentive and trustworthy employees who are CNA trained (desired but not mandatory). Please join our mission in providing extraordinary in-home care to seniors in our city. Our business is locally owned and operated by Omaha natives, who have a passion for helping seniors age in place. We want our caregivers to know that they are a valuable part of our team, and we are here to support them throughout their caregiving journey! Our goal is to help our clients "Thrive" at home.
* $16-$17 per hour
* Our valued employees receive flexible hours, a variety of shifts, competitive pay and are always treated with kindness and respect.
* Caregivers will follow a pre planned daily care schedule, one on one, in the comfort of the clients home.
* We offer a way to make a meaningful impact in your own life and the lives of seniors in our city.
HCAN offers paid training to all caregivers, which will cover all of the following responsibilities.
Caregiver Responsibilities:
- Build rapport with our clients; engage in conversation and provide companionship
- Follow a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and medication reminders
- Assist with non-medical hygiene and personal care (bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating)
- Monitor and report changes in physical and mental health behavior, and needs
- Ensure the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place
- Assist with some light housework and meal preparation
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks
- Mobility assistance may be required (helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair)
- Transport or escort the client to medical and other appointments/errands
- Position may include caring for clients with dementia
Caregiver Requirements:
- Must be 19 years or older
- High School Diploma (preferred)
- Possess a valid driver's license and liability auto insurance coverage
- Have a professional and friendly attitude
- Enjoy helping people!
